Description
This was an illustration I did in 2010 (I think it was 2010, could be earlier) for my Illustration I class. I based it on an article where the doctor stopped surgery to donate his own blood to the patient, except in my version the doctor donates as he is operating which is my interpretation. It was funny how I set up the reference for it. I laid on my pool table on some wooden planks and my brother, who was wearing scrubs (and holding a pen, not a scalpel), stood next to me. I had a flood light suspended from the wall using string and a pool cue (maybe even another piece of wood?). I set the camera to timer and took some shots and used it for reference. The blood bag and stuff is accurate from researching blood bags and finding multiple references online.
Again, this looks better in person (duh).
